Our process starts with those questions before we ever talk about stone selection or pump sizing, so the finished feature works as well as it looks.
How We Plan Your Water Feature Project
Full Design with Drawings and a System Plan
For pondless waterfalls, bio ponds, and stream installations, we develop a placement drawing that shows the feature in context with the surrounding landscape, along with a system plan covering pump sizing, basin volume, recirculation, overflow routing, and electrical requirements. You approve the plan before any excavation begins.
Site Walkthrough and Concept Sketch
For smaller fountains and simpler water wall installations, a property walkthrough and concept sketch gives us a shared vision and a clear scope. Your estimate follows from there.

Step 1: Reach Out
Call, email, or fill out the contact form.
Step 2: Talk Through Your Project With Sam
Sam will learn about the feature you have in mind and use our project planner to help you calibrate budget expectations before Trey visits. Water feature sizing and system complexity have a direct impact on cost, and it helps to get aligned early.
Step 3: Meet Trey on Site
Trey assesses the installation site, evaluates drainage and electrical access, discusses the feature type and scale that fits the space, and recommends a planning path for your project.
Step 4: Review Your Design and Estimate
For pondless systems, bio ponds, and streams, you receive a placement drawing, a system spec, and a detailed estimate. For smaller features, a written scope and estimate is produced after the site visit.
Step 5: Approve and Reserve Your Schedule
A deposit invoice confirms your project date. Materials for custom stone and specialty water feature components are ordered at this stage.
Step 6: Pre-installation site visit
Your crew leader visits the property before excavation begins to confirm layout, plan equipment access, and review any underground utilities that need to be located.
Step 7: Progress Updates During Installation
We communicate when excavation is complete, when the basin or liner is in place and the system is roughed in, and again when stone placement and planting integration begins.
Step 8: System Startup and Full Walkthrough
When installation is complete, we start the system with you present, confirm water flow, pump performance, and overflow routing, and walk you through every component of what was installed.
Step 9: Operation and Seasonal Care Guidance
You will receive written guidance on pump maintenance, winterization for your specific system, water treatment, and what to watch for in the first season of operation.
