Hardscaping is construction first, design second. Before we talk about what your patio or retaining wall looks like, we talk about what it has to do: the grade it sits on, the soil underneath it, the drainage it needs to handle, and what Southern Pennsylvania’s freeze-thaw cycles will put it through over the years. Our process is built around getting that foundation right so the finished structure holds for decades, not just for the first couple of winters.

Patio Design & Build
We build patios with pavers, natural stone, or stamped concrete, with the grading and drainage worked out before the first stone goes down, not fixed after the fact. We’ve built patios paired with covered structures, like a flagstone patio and patio covering in Red Lion, PA, and patios with built-in seating, like a flagstone patio with a sitting wall in Parkton, MD, where the wall was built as part of the patio design instead of added on afterward.
Walkways
We build walkways with flagstone, pavers, or brick, laid out to guide how people move through the yard rather than just connecting point A to point B. Every joint and edge is set with the same attention as the patios they usually lead to.
Fire Features
We build fire pits for casual nights outside and outdoor fireplaces for a more built-in, permanent feature. Both are built into the surrounding hardscape rather than dropped in as a standalone kit.
Retaining Walls
This is where our construction experience matters most. A retaining wall is a structural project first and a design feature second: it has to manage real soil pressure and drainage, not just look good. We assess the site, engineer the wall for its actual load, and choose materials (natural stone, segmental block, or custom masonry) based on what the slope and soil actually need.
Outdoor Kitchens
Our outdoor kitchens range from a simple grill station to a full layout with counters, storage, and a sink. Each one is built with weather-resistant materials and tied into the patio it sits on so the whole space reads as one structure instead of a kitchen bolted onto an existing slab.

Full design with drawings and renderings
For complex hardscaping projects, including multi-zone patios, retaining wall systems, and full outdoor buildouts, we develop detailed drawings and 3D renderings so you can see exactly what is going up before any material is ordered. Your estimate is tied directly to the approved design, so there are no surprises when the work begins.
A site sketch and written estimate
For most hardscaping projects, a detailed site sketch and written scope are enough to get aligned on the plan. We stake out the layout, talk through material choices, and document everything clearly before you approve anything.
A property walkthrough and written estimate
When the project is well-defined and the site is straightforward, we walk the property with you, work out the details on site, and produce a written estimate you can review at your own pace.

Step 2: Talk Through Your Project With Sam
Sam will get a clear picture of what you have in mind and walk you through our project planner so you can calibrate expectations on budget before Trey visits the site.
Step 3: Meet Trey on Site
Trey inspects the grade, soil conditions, and drainage situation on your property, discusses your goals, and determines the right planning path for the scope of the project.
Step 4: Review Your Design & Estimate
For larger hardscaping projects, you receive a full design package with drawings, material specs, and a detailed estimate to review online or in person.
Step 5: Approve and Lock in Your Schedule
A deposit invoice confirms your spot and lets us order the stone, pavers, block, or concrete needed for your project.
Step 6: Crew Leader Site Visit
Your crew leader walks the property before work begins, plans equipment access and staging, and confirms the layout before the first shovel goes in the ground.
Step 7: Construction Updates Throughout the Project
We check in at key milestones: once grade and drainage are set, once forms or footings are in place, and again when the finish work begins. You are never guessing at where things stand.
Step 8: Final Cleanup and Structural Walkthrough
When the project is complete, we clean the site and walk the finished structure with you, explaining what was built and how it performs.
Step 9: Care and Maintenance Guidance
You will receive written guidance on joint sand maintenance for paver patios, drainage inspection, and any seasonal care your installed hardscape benefits from.
